Professional Development
One of my favorite things is discussing multilingual education with people! Below are some themes that I have done workshops or trainings on. Please contact me if you are interested in having me present to your school, church, place of employment, youth group, etc. These workshops can be tailored to your needs, whether that be a one-time presentation or a year-long professional development course.

TESOL in a Nutshell

With the rapid expansion of dual immersion programs, many teachers find themselves lacking tools to effectively teach their diverse classroom. This workshop provides the basics for teachers and staff who want to better help their students learning English as a second (or third or fourth) language.
Also available in expanded version.
Teacher Professional Well-being

Socio-emotional Learning has risen to the top of many educators' priority lists, especially since the COVID-19 Pandemic. As teachers, we strive to meet the ever-growing needs of our students. But who takes care of us?
In this workshop, we look at realistic ways to provide self-care as a teacher, as well as how to create an atmosphere of healing and well-being within schools.
Multiple Means of Assessment

Standardized testing dominates the academic world, creeping into our classrooms as early as third grade (or earlier!). Want to assess your students' knowledge, but don't want to stick to the same old multiple choice test? This workshop focuses on the multiple means of assessments available to teachers and how to incorporate them in your classroom. Learn not just what your students know, but what they are in the process of learning. With a special focus on dynamic assessment, you will leave this workshop feeling empowered and more well equipped to assess student learning and let it guide your teaching.
Dual Immersion: the Basics

Do you have newly recruited teachers who have never taught dual before? Look no further! Based in Vygotskian Sociocultural theory, this workshop provides the very basics of teaching in dual immersion. We discuss topics from teaching language through content, to how to balance large classes, to classroom organization and time saving strategies. We also devote a section to professional wellbeing, specifically for dual language bilingual educators. Complete with tips from practicing teachers, this workshop is one you won't want to miss!
